1. We are in the 28th week of Ordinary Time. The liturgy invites us to pray for the gift of wisdom, so that unlike the "rich man" of the Gospel, we may make good choices, give
priority to God in our life, and not allow ourselves to be possessed by our possessions.
2. On the occasion of World Mission Day, the collections at all Masses on Friday October 18th, Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th October will be sent to the Mission Office in Rome,
through the Nunciature.
3. Admissions for Junior KG at The Indian English Academy School (Don Bosco) for the academic year 2025-2026 will be available on the website: ieasonline.edu.in. Online
registrations will be accepted from October 11th to 18th October from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The details of the admission requirements are posted on the Church Notice Board.
4. The Pre-Baptismal Seminar for the month of October will be held on Monday, 21st October from 7:00pm- 9:00pm in Room No. 14. This course is obligatory for Parents
and Godparents. Kindly contact the Parish Office for further details. The Seminar can also be attended before the birth of your child.
Kindly note that henceforth Baptisms in the parish will be held on the Second & Fourth Thursdays of the Month at 5 pm.
5. All the Priests of our parish will be away for their Annual Priests' Meeting and hence from Tuesday October 15th to Thursday October 17th instead of the morning Mass there
will be a celebration of the Word of God with distribution of Holy Communion by the Eucharistic Ministers. On these days there will be only One Mass at 6:30 pm in English
in the parish.
6. The Ushers' Ministry is organizing a "Dress Like Saints" competition for children 3 years and above on Saturday, 26th October. Registrations can be done through a drop box
placed in the courtyard. For more details, kindly refer to the notice board.
7. There will be an INTER PARISH FAITH QUIZ on Saturday October 26th 2024 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Ahmadi organized by the Faith Formation office AVONA. Salmiya will
be represented by Famis Francis, Rhea Gonsalves, Felix Francis, Reona Gonsalves, Chelsea Crasta &; Rehanna Azavedo.
8. The final Vicariate English Marriage Preparation Course for this year- 2024- will be held on Fridays, November 8 th and 15 th from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Good
Shepherd Hall at Holy Family Co-Cathedral. For the registration and further details please visit the AVONA website (www.avona.org). This course is obligatory for
all who wish to get married.
9. The timings for Masses on All Souls Day, Saturday 2nd November are as follows:
5:45 am in English
4:00 pm in Tamil
5:00 pm in English
6:30 pm in English
8:00 pm in Malayalam
9:30 pm in Tagalog
10. Mass intentions for All Souls Day on November 2nd , can be written on slips of paper which are available in the courtyard and at the exit door of the Church. Please clip it
along with 2 KD/- per intention and deposit it in the drop boxes provided. Kindly note that the mass intentions will not be read. All mass intentions will be placed near the altar and
prayed for at all masses.
Please note, no Mass intentions will be offered on Friday 1st November, All Saints
Day.
11. Due to various reasons Catechism Classes will henceforth be held in the Church
premises. To allow for this the 8:00 am Mass every Friday will now be at 7:30 am. All
parishioners are requested to note the change of timings.
1. Mass in English: 7:30 am
2. Catechism 1st Session: 8:45 am to 9:45 am
3. Children's Mass: 10:00 am
4. Catechism 2nd Session: 11:15 am to 12:15 pm
Parents, please note- one of the reasons for shifting the venue is the traffic chaos.
Hence please park away from the Church and refrain from entering the road near
"Bismis restaurant" (formerly "Nukkad").
12. The Catechism Ministry is looking for volunteers and traffic wardens for Friday Catechism classes preferably for both sessions. Those who are interested kindly
contact the parish office.
13. The Blessed Sacrament Chapel will not be open on Friday Mornings due to Catechism Classes.
