On 7th January 2021, Pope Francis appointed His Grace Archbishop Eugene Nugent as the Apostolic Nuncio to Kuwait and Qatar, and on 11th February, as Apostolic Nuncio to Bahrain.
The new Apostolic Nuncio (Ambassador of the Holy See) to Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar, His Grace Archbishop Eugene Martin Nugent arrived in the State of Kuwait on 26th February 2021 to take up his duties as the Vatican's envoy to the Arabian Peninsula.
The Staff of the Apostolic Nunciature and the Official Representatives of the Catholic Church in Kuwait warmly welcomed and received His Grace at the Kuwait International Airport.
The Apostolic Nunciature which is the Vatican Embassy of the Holy See (Vatican City) is based in Kuwait. The Apostolic Nuncio will officially present his credentials to the Government of Kuwait and other countries of the Arabian Peninsula in due course.
We pray for God's abundant blessings upon the Apostolic Nuncio and the Government leaders of the Gulf countries, and for peace, prosperity, security and the well-being of all the people in the Arabian Peninsula.
