Fr. JUDE CHANAKA LALANTHA CROOS was born on 29th December 1983 at Chilaw in PuttlamDistrict; Sri Lanka. He is the eldest son in a family of four.
He had his primary education at the St. Mary’s College, Chilaw and he did his Advanced Level studies at the St. Xavier’s College in Marawila.
He had his priestly formation at St. Paul’s Seminary, Marawila and the National Seminary in Kandy.
He was ordained a diocesan priest on 2nd February 2013. He holds a Baccalaureate in Philosophy and a Baccalaureate in Theology, affiliated to Urbaniana University, Rome.
He has served as an assistant priest in the parishes of Mampuriay, Naththandiya, Katuneriya, Ambakadawila, Ninamadama, Kattakaduwa and as a parish priest at Ilanthadiya in the diocese of Chilaw. He was appointed as Deanery Catechetical Director in Puttlam deanery.
Fr. Jude Chanaka LalanthaCroos joined the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia on the 15th May 2023 and has been assigned to the Holy Family Co-Cathedral, Kuwait.

The Vicariate of Kuwait is now the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia which includes Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The decree from the Holy See came into effect on May 31, 2011.
