The Vicariate of Kuwait is now the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia which includes Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The decree from the Holy See came into effect on May 31, 2011.

Fr. Yassa Ghobrial was born on 19th June 1972.
He was ordained a Priest on 10th June 2000.
After his Ordination, Fr. Yassa was assigned to the parish of the Divine Mercy Cathedral in Upper Egypt and continued to serve there for 8 years as Parish Priest.
His next appointment was at Virgin Mary Church in upper Egypt as Parish Priest for 10 years.
Fr. Yassa also served in Ireland and then London for 6 months.
After his ministry in Europe, he returned to Egypt and served for one year as Parish Priest in Saint George Church and for 5 years as Parish Priest in Saint Teresa Church.
In 2022, the Patriarch of Alexandria sent Fr. Yassa to Kuwait to administer to the spiritual needs of the Coptic Catholic Community at Holy Family Co-Cathedral in Kuwait Cty. He joined the Vicariate of Northern Arabia on 15th August 2022.
